SOME THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE DEAD SEA
Deriving it's name from certain characteristics it possesses, the Dead sea is the deepest hypersaline lake in the world(997 ft) and also the lowest place on earth!
It is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean and one of the world's saltiest bodies of water .
This salinity makes it an harsh environment in which not even bacteria can survive talk less plants or even animals .
Located on the west bank of Jordan, the Dead Seawater has a density of 1.24 kg/litre, which makes swimming in it more like floating...'crazy' right?, well, there's more...
The dead sea is endorheic i.e ,Water from various water channels flows into it, But it has no external water channels, it's however inwardly Drained.
It's a majestic and mysterious looking lake of light turquoise waters with salt crystals jutting out of the surface.
Due to having huge amounts of salt concentration, the Dead Sea is being utilised for various purposes including the manufacture of potash, a salt in a soluble form. So therefore, water is extracted from the sea on a regular basis.
So now what do you now think of this mysterious lake? A crazily abnormal water body? , A good site for tourist attraction?...well, you decide!
